To Inspire our community with the power of music

For the past eleven years the Oak Harbor Music Festival has provided a weekend of free musical entertainment in the City of Oak Harbor, on beautiful Whidbey Island.

The festival is dedicated to producing a world-class, 3-day musical event that sparks joy while building a sense of community, that brings our island neighbors together while establishing lasting connections with visitors, that adds vibrancy to downtown Oak Harbor while generating revenue for Whidbey Island business, and that provides equal-access music education opportunities with scholarships and instrument programs that encourage local young people to express themselves through music.

The Quarter Note Fund

The Quarter Note Fund for Young Musicians will help our Whidbey Island schools provide instruments for use by children who can't afford to rent or buy their own. Students with passion for music, and talent and desire to learn, should have an obstacle-free chance to follow their dreams.

ED BRIDGES MEMORIAL MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP

Scholarship applications are picked up at the counseling center in each respective high school. The Ed Bridges Music Scholarship is given in honor of Ed Bridges who was the Oak Harbor High School music director in the 1970’s. He was an inspiration to many young musicians who have gone on to make music their careers.

BRUCE LANTZ MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP

In 2016 we added another scholarship. This is in honor of the Oak Harbor Music teacher Bruce Lantz, who after 31 years of teaching music, retired in 2016.
