Biography

Luminosity was born when Ramon Lopex called me from Tokyo. Anyone that knows Ramon has seen his ability to focus and amke things happen. I met Ramon and Justin during the Fall of 2000 at the University of Central Florida. We felt that our connection was immediate. This recording event occured within a two-week duration in August 2005. Interestingly, at the time of the recording our lives were thousands of miles apart. Somehow, during this expanse we never lost touch . After months of careful scheduling, we decided to converge and record. Opportunity lef us to Central Florida. This initial event is an intention to solidify a platform for the expression and unity of many similar paths. Luminoisity aims to embrace the beauty of our various loves in music. Many of the present compositions were inspired from the sounds created by Justin and Ramon. The influence of their heartfelt friendship and artistic ability is truly inspiring. While writing for Luminosity, I never felt limited by the expressive capabilities of the trio. This kind of security has allowed me to go beyond any usual process. During my career, I have experienced ryhthm as a sensation of pressurized time. Musically, this "pressure" is one of the primary elements of my compositional direction for this trio. Many of the present compositions mingle codified song form construction with progressive systems that, at times, can be game-like.
