The Culture
You will often hear Italians say “Una giornata senza riso è una giornata sprecata," a common proverb meaning, "A day without laughter is a wasted day." Besides great food and jokes Italians have an appreciation for the arts and architecture because our history is so rich with influential thinkers and artisans. Modern day artisans can still be found throughout Italy. Women in Burano still crochet lace while waiting for their husbands to come back from sea and modern day glass blowers perform spectacles daily on the island of Murano. We hope to pass some of this joy to you through our cooking. If you are still interested in learning about our culture and history or just want to find some great recipes check out the links below.
