Named after one of the greatest philosophers in the history of western philosophy, who himself was adopted, The Aristotle Foundation was established in 1981 by adoptive parents and advocates of adoption. The mission of the Foundation is to provide financial assistance, services and support to families, before, during and after their adoptions are finalized. The Foundation's programs are available to any family whether they are adopting an infant, a child from abroad or a child from foster care.
In addition to providing financial assistance, TAF seeks to educate policy makers and the public about the financial barriers to adoption and the unmet needs many families have. The Foundation's presence on Capitol Hill and in the media assure that the interests of adoptive families are being promoted and protected.
