Since the opening of the first Tako Sushi Restaurant in Chicago, Illinois, Master Chef Masaharu Morimoto has opened two more Tako Sushi locations in Miami, Florida and Las Vegas, Nevada. All of the Tako Sushi Restaurants contain long, elaborate sushi bars -- as sushi is the focus of the entire restaurant. The Las Vegas and Miami locations contain lounge areas as well as traditional seating areas. Tako Sushi is a great place to go for a good, relaxing time. Master Chef Masaharu Morimoto grew up in Hiroshima, Japan, hoping to be a great baseball player. When a shoulder injury ruined his chances of pursuing such a career, he fell back on his second dream of becoming a sushi chef. He trained for nearly eight years In 1993, he became executive chef at a restaurant opened by a friend in Manhattan called Nobu. In March, 2000, Morimoto opened the first Tako Sushi Restaurant in Chicago. His goal was to unite Eastern and Western tastes into the art of sushi. Masaharu Morimoto also stars as Iron Chef Japan on the Food Network show: Iron Chef. Chef Morimoto has a zest for life and a passion for food, which makes all of the food in his restaurants delicious and creative.
