A New Start

Coalition for the Homeless has embarked upon an ambitious and most necessary project. In 2003, we launched a Capital Campaign to build a non-profit support center. This center is pulling together the geographically dispersed programs of the Coalition, while enabling us to begin a new partnership with some impressive non-profit organizations to offer day care, parenting and children's services in the new building. The center, which is now about halfway complete, provides a cohesive and supportive environment from which to continue rebuilding the lives of many disenfranchised and homeless residents.

The number of homeless and seriously disenfranchised has risen dramatically in recent years. The crisis of homelessness cannot be addressed without the focused and sustained efforts of non-profit organizations working together to prevent people from losing their homes and help those who are already homeless to get back on their feet. To be effective in battling this growing wave of social strife, there is a tremendous need for organizations like the Coalition to collaborate and advocate for new and cost-effective solutions.
